  1. Hey Sebastian, So I have been researching various methods that would leave me with a strong, stripped of protein Grouper or Wreckfish skeleton.
Now these are large specimens ( 2+ Feet in length). I am looking into the chemical bath(Trypsin) and the Dermestid beetle method. Currently I am banging my head on the wall !

    Can you help me ????

  2. Hey,
Sure, if you're going for the whole skeleton, beetle them, otherwise you probably won't be able to put them together. You'll face 2 issues with fish this big: 1/you'll need a fairly large colony, 2/it'll be expensive to degrease them, as you'll need large quantities of acetone, which is what works best with fish in my opinion.
If you decide to clean the skull only, macerating them would be a better idea: it'll give you a head start on degreasing, and will be easier to degrease.
If you wish to discuss this further, you can get in touch here: voraghl(at)gmail(dot)com
    Cheers
